Evans Consoles "Hot Topics" In Public Safety
Our Evans team members have attended NENA and other public safety events for many years. They have shared some of their insights, and we've compiled a list of "Hot Topics" that are top of mind for the public safety industry. While some of these topics have been around for a long time, it's clear that we must continuously improve our offerings to make them as seamless and effective as possible for you and your team.
After speaking with and completing projects with public safety professionals from all across the country, we have gained valuable insights into the top concerns from the industry. Here are 5 things we have learned over the years that we continue to integrate into our products and services designed specifically to suit public safety needs:
- Health & Wellness - In today's public safety industry, health and wellness are a top priority. At Evans, we are committed to promoting the well-being of emergency communications professionals through our EvansCare maintenance program and ergonomic design features. Our consoles also incorporate top-of-the-line creature comforts, lighting solutions, KVM, and A/V solutions that enhance mental health and promote a productive work environment.
- Investment in Personal Comfort - Maintaining a comfortable temperature in a 911 center can be a challenge, but at Evans, we've got you covered. Our consoles come equipped with a built-in heater for each position, allowing telecommunicators to focus on their work without distraction. With our EnviroLinc touchscreen interface, you can easily adjust the temperature, lighting, and fan settings to create a customized console experience that meets your specific needs.
- Medilux Task Lighting - At NENA in 2022, we unveiled a revolutionary lighting solution on our Response NEXTGen Console that quickly became a fan favorite. Our Medilux Task Lighting replicates the sun's natural pattern, helping telecommunicators regulate their circadian rhythm and improve their overall health and productivity. With this innovative feature, operators can work comfortably and efficiently, day or night.
- Weytec Cutting Edge Dispatch Room Technology - Weytec's state-of-the-art KVM solution, which impressed many attendees at the 2022 conference, simplifies technology for your operators by combining multiple monitors and keyboards. With this innovative solution, each operator can perform any task, from dispatch and call-taking to NCIC, on a single console with a single keyboard and proper credentials. This not only reduces the need for additional consoles but also alleviates struggles with overtime and staffing problems. With just a touch of a button, operators can push and pull content and keep their community informed in real time.
- Durable Consoles for 911 Emergency Centers - It's crucial that 911 centers have reliable equipment that can handle any situation without fail. At Evans, we understand the importance of building durable consoles like our Response NEXTGen console, which can last for 15-25 years. Investing in a console that won't require constant service or replacement within 5-10 years not only saves money in the long run but also ensures that emergency operations can continue uninterrupted during critical moments. While it may be tempting to opt for the most cost-effective option, investing in a console that can withstand the demands of the public safety industry provides a greater return on investment in the long run.
