Evans Environmental Management Systems
Our environmental policy aims to minimize environmental impacts concerning our activities, products, and services, as defined by our Environmental Management System. Our goals are to:
- Comply with applicable legal and other requirements that relate to environmental aspects.
- Set environmental objectives to prevent and reduce pollution and waste.
- Minimize the consumption of resources.
- Commit to continual improvement of the Environmental Management System to enhance environmental performance, and,
- Educate, train, motivate, and communicate our policies to employees and help them carry out tasks in an environmentally sustainable manner.
Our environmental commitment is not just the words on this page, we have taken steps to improve and strive towards our goals and the following certifications.
ISO 14001 Environmental Management System
Evans' Environmental Management System complies with the requirements of ISO 14001:2015. We identify and quantify our products and services to minimize our carbon footprint and reduce waste. Our procedures help manage immediate and long-term environmental impacts of the design and manufacturing of consoles and millwork solutions. This includes controlling environmental risks in our wood fabrication, metal fabrication, and assembly facilities.
Our goal is to improve our environmental performance, and because we already use ISO management systems 9001 for quality management and ISO 45001 for occupational health and safety, this means that ISO 14001 can be easily integrated into these existing systems. Using ISO 14001 also helps encourage our suppliers and partners to strive for the same environmental goals. At Evans, we identify and analyze all the environmental aspects of our operations to ensure those that may pose a significant impact on the environment are under control and prioritized for improvement.

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED)
Evans has a strong commitment to environmental stewardship. Our products are manufactured using recycled and low emitting materials that help our customers meet and exceed environmental standards in their projects. Accordingly, Evans plays a role in enabling a building project to acquire the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification.
The LEED Green Building Rating System®, developed by the U.S. Green Building Council under contract with the
U.S. Department of Energy, is a voluntary standard for developing environmentally responsible, low emission, high-performance, sustainable buildings. LEED certifications are for the entire construction project; materials and products used in buildings are not individually certified. There is a rigorous process of third-party verification by the Green Building Certification Institute (GBCI) for each project. The use of Evans products contributes to the accumulation of LEED credits in the categories of Materials and Resources, Indoor Environmental Quality, and Innovation and Design.
