Security Operations Control Room for ChevronTexaco

Operators: 2
Product(s): Identity, Response

The Challenge

The Client, ChevronTexaco Corp, ranks among the world?s largest and most competitive global energy companies, active in more than 180 countries. So, when they wanted consoles for their Security Operations Control Room, strict ergonomic guidelines needed to be met by Evans.

Their requirements included 2 sit-stand workstations that had to have minimal impact on each other?s sightlines to the 1 x 2 security video wall at the front of the room.

In addition, space was very limited in the control room yet there was also a significant amount of equipment required for the room?s operations. These factors all had to be incorporated and solved in Evans proposed design.

The Evans Solution

The design Evans brought to the client incorporated two different console platforms integrated into one, functional ergonomic solution.

The design included operator workstations that consisted of a sit-stand Response? console for the primary operator position integrated with fixed single-high Identity? workstations on each side. This combination addressed both the ergonomic and equipment storage requirements of the client.

To meet the video wall sightline requirements, various drawings were also provided by Evans for client review and ultimately, the rear workstation was elevated on a platform to ensure the clear and unobstructed sightlines that were mandatory.
