Evans Consoles Becomes Very First Canadian Company to Win Coveted Aerospace Supplier Award

Evans becomes first ever Canadian company to receive the exclusive supplier award for its longstanding partnership and most recently, for the turnkey design, manufacture and installation of custom consoles for the new Firing Room #4 at Kennedy Space Center, the very room that NASA will be launching all remaining Space Shuttle missions from.

This coveted award was presented on Wednesday May 3, 2006 in a ceremony to Evans employees at their Calgary manufacturing facility by top USA brass, including current Deputy Program Manager and 3-time Space Shuttle astronaut Loren Shriver, who delivered an inspirational speech to Evans employees about his experiences in space.

The exclusive Space Flight Awareness (SFA) Supplier Award, presented by United Space Alliance (USA), the Space Shuttle Program prime contractor for NASA, was given to Evans for their outstanding performance and production of high-quality products, excellent technical and cost performance, and adherence to schedules for its long-standing work with USA.

“This is a very proud day for Evans to be the very first Canadian company ever to receive this award. It is recognition of Evans` quality and both Calgary and Canada`s importance on a world-scale in contributing to such important projects ” says Greg Smith, Evans CEO. “ And it isn`t every day you get to meet a 3-time astronaut, so that is going to be very exciting for our employees, whose hard work and commitment to quality have made this possible”.
