Position Overview: 

Operation of CNC machines in order to produce required components and materials. Perform scheduled preventative maintenance of equipment.   THREE POSITIONS  NIGHT SHIFT ONLY 10:00 P.M. THROUGH TO 6:00 A.M.  

Key Responsibilities: 

Entry Level Minimum:
  • Set-up of equipment such as program, tooling, materials
  • Run programs and QA parts as per drawing and communicate with CNC programmer when necessary to ensure parts are made to specified drawing
  • Final quality check on part prior final run of required quantity of parts based on drawing
  • Deliver components to next process based on routing 
  • Complete scheduled equipment check based on maintenance checklist and report any issues or concerns with equipment
  • Ensure production expectations are met and report any issues or concerns for meeting dates or schedule
  • Ensure safety standards are kept and met at all times during his shift and report any related issues/concerns.
Intermediate - Senior:
  • Problem-solve increasingly more complex problems related to drawings, assemblies, material shortage or missing parts.
  • Work with new employees by providing training on CNC machines 
  • Detect issues with products and communicate those issues to other departments or within the team as applicable.
  • Verify parts are safe and compliant with all regulations.
  • Investigate issues whether quality or safety related and initiate corrective action.

Required Qualifications: 

Entry Level:
  • Interpret technical drawings 
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools and measuring equipment
  • Basic understanding of  CNC operation and tooling requirements
Intermediate to Senior:
  • Communicate/educate/share technical information to other operators and supervisors
  • Semi-Proficient at set-up and operating the following equipment : Brake press, Turret press
  • Some computer skills including knowledge of basic AutoCad and applicable software for the particular CNC machine.
  • Basic problem solving skills.
  • Good understanding of the fabrication /manufacturing processes, quality and safety standards.

Education / Experience:
  • Minimum grade 12 education required
  • Minimum 1 year Evans experience or equivalent industry experience required
  • Previous CNC experience or equivalent
